A domain name is the name of any website, for example the domain of our website is “www.ElasticZone.com“.

The domains “dot COM” (.Com) are the most popular domains (other are “.Org”, “.Net”). The average price of this kind of domains is U.S.$ 10 per year, but you know that will you be able to resell that domains and even most important that maybe someone could pay you a million dollars for your domain?

Yes, maybe you become millionaire buying and selling domains, that is the case of the domain ”Candy.com” that was sold for 2 million dollars as reported the newspaper Christian Science Monitor.

Why does it cost so much if you only should pay U.S$10 dollars per year?

Simply, because the name is short and generates traffic of visits to the website itself. As I have said before, on the Internet to more traffic of visitors you have more opportunities to make money online (read How to Make Money Online with a Blog).

Today, It is not easy to find a domain as Candy.com but maybe you can find an interesting domain that still is free. You can explore to buy one in several sites as Alocate, you should invest only $ 10 per year but who knows, perhaps you will sell your domain for millions of dollars in some years more.

The New York Times usually publish several articles about cases of successful businesses.

In this case NYT made an interesting report about how an small business is making a lot of money with its website named AskPaty.

AskPaty is a website that give advice about cars, automotive advice, advice on car buying, maintenance and other related automotive topics. However, the difference with other similar websites is that AskPaty is thinking for women.

Who had this business idea was obviously a woman who didn’t find information about cars with that point of view.

As the case of AskPaty the NYT reported other cases of small business that launch successful websites where their founders are finding new business, new sells and new sources of make money online.

The internet technology is inexpensive and is easy to learn the tools for build a social media. You can built for yourself your ecommerce business with several scrips, many of them free.

If you are thinking to start your own business maybe you should start making your own website or blog por make money by internet and explore the opportunities that your business idea could have.

What is the best software to make money with a blog? WordPress, Blogger or TypePad

If you want to make money online with a blog you will find that there are several alternatives of software to start one (I recommend you to read How to Make Money Online with a Blog).

One of the most popular is WordPress.org and is free. You should go to that link and you can download the program to install it on your blog hosting (I use wordpress).

Usually your hosting provider give the option to install WordPress with only few clicks (check Alocate that give you that option with its Linux Hosting plans).

At Blogger.com (a service of Google) you can make a blog as a sub domain totally free without invest to buy a domain or hosting. WordPress.com (notice .com and not .org) also give you the same alternative. If you want you can explore these free option but really you quickly will move to WordPress.org or maybe TypePad.

TypePad is other blog platform very successful but you need to pay for it but they provide you with the hosting services.

I use WordPress and I am very happy with this software. As wordpress is an open source you can find also a lot of resources over internet free that will allow you to learn more about this software and how to make money with your blog.

How to make money online with a blog without put money

How to make money online is one of the most common questions.

You heard about other people that are making a lot of money with internet and you don’t sure if that is true or not. Well the answer is that is totally true, you can make money with internet and you don’t need a huge investment to do it.

There are several sources of make money by internet but now I want to tell you about one of them … make money with a blog.

A blog is a website as you are reading now and you can make one totally free using services as Google who give you the possibility to make your own blog in Blogger.com, however if you are really interested the best way is to buy your own domain and a hosting service (on average the cost is U.S.$ 70 each year, check the information on Alocate).

At start you don’t need to pay a designer of your blog because there are a lot of  designs that are free.

Once you have the blog you should start the process known as “monetizing” your blog. I mean you have to put ads on your blog and you start making money.

The process of put ads in your blog is very easy and automatized, you can use the service of Google Adsense for mention one. Also you can sell digital products in your blog or whatever.

The obviously secret is that if you have a lot of visits reading your blog you will have more opportunities to make money, so the most important thing when you make a blog is how to attract more people interested in your blog. You must to give value to your readers for achieve it.

Maybe you are reading this article and thinking how start, well you should start thinking about what will be the topic of your blog. You can write about business, cars, show business, architecture or anything but always think that you should give some value to your readers.

There will probably be no greater feeling than when you walk out the door and into a business wherein you call the shots!

The key of course is to consider your employer, and avoid situations that can lead to conflicts of interests (e.g. your new business is a direct competitor of your employer or you are using company time and resources for your business).

In an interesting article on NPR, Jhonny Earle gives us some tips on how to start a success business:

“1. Don’t rush. First impressions are everything. Don’t release any product unless you know for sure it’s as good as you can get it to be.

2. Don’t get bummed out if you go broke. You have to spend money to make money.

3. Travel, travel, travel.

4. Get a catchy domain name. Do something different, original, and memorable. Take your time coming up with a name.

5. Try to limit/not mass produce anything. Everyone wants what nobody has.

6. Be prepared to toss out any relationships or hobbies, if need be. You have to put 110 percent into building any company. You need to get your own act together before taking on a relationship.

7. Focus, focus! Living a drug-free, alcohol-free lifestyle my whole life has enabled me to save money, think straight, live healthy, focus more, and use my time wisely. I’m not saying do what I did, I’m just pointing out that you’re going to have to make your company your first priority.

8. Personalize your online orders. Johnny Cupcakes shirts are wrapped in special cupcake tissue paper, and usually come with a Ninja Turtles or Garbage Pail Kids card. Taking a couple of extra minutes to do that puts a gigantic smile on someone’s face!”

Guerrilla Marketing is one of the best tools that any small or home business should to use. It is based more on human psychology than experience, more on time, energy and imagination than money.

Its two founders used the guerrilla marketing because they lacked resources to sell their new product.

They went to triathlons in New York and they began to give examples of their products to athletes, with inflated balloons as banners with ads of their company. This strategy, a typical guerrilla marketing, gave them the key of their success.

Ads on the moon a new way to promote your business idea

Your logo on the moon … do you believe it?

There is a company that is offering it with a new technology using a robot, its name Moon Publicity.

They said:

Obviously there are ethical and ecological issues, about that they said:

However, consider the big picture. What is the biggest problem in the world? Is it hunger? Is it illness? Is it war? No. The largest problem is the inevitable extinction of the human species. It could be a collision with an asteroid, a deadly virus, a nuclear war, a supervolcano, a hypernova explosion or our own sun eventually swallowing the Earth.”
