China took these measures because of problems of pollution and economy
Plastic bags in China have become a serious problem of pollution and means to further the use of oil derivatives always expensive and scarce. To avoid this problem China has banned the use of plastic bags in supermarkets and Ultra is urging its people to return to the use of reusable bags traditional market (the famous straw bags or cloth worn our grandmothers) .
